The economic operation of garment industry in January-February is as follows:
Production
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the industrial added-value value of enterprises above designated size in the garment industry increased by 26.6% year-on-year, producing 3.4 billion pieces, up by 38.44% year-on-year.
Domestic sales
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to more than CNY 6.97 trillion, increased by 33.8% year-on-year. Thereinto, the retail sales of clothing, foot & head wear and knitted goods by major retailers above designated size was CNY 168.9 billion, surged by 53.1% year-on-year.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, China's online retail sales was CNY 1.44 trillion, growing by 30.6% year-on-year. In the online retail sales of physical commodities, wearing goods increased by 44.3% year-on-year.
Export
According to the Customs Newsletters, from January to February, China's garment and accessories exports totaled US$ 24.05 billion, surged by 50% year-on-year.
Investment
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the actual investment of China's garment industry increased by 24.6% compared with the same period of 2020.
Benefit
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to February, the main business income of garment enterprises above designated size totaled about CNY 179.2 billion, with year-on-year growth of 21.43%; the total profit was CNY 7.83 billion, up 42.81% year-on-year.
