According to customs statistics, in the January-August period, China's textile and apparel exports amounted to US$ 187.41 billion, seeing year-on-year growth of 5.62% (in CNY-denominated terms, up 8.98%), unchanged from the previous month. Thereinto, the exports of textiles totaled US$ 104.8 billion, with year-on-year growth of 31.99% (in CNY-denominated terms, up 36.33%), maintaining high growth; the exports of apparel was US$ 82.61 billion, down 15.74% year-on-year (in CNY-denominated terms, down 13.14%), seeing a decrease of 0.8 percentage point from the first seven months.

In August, due to the exports of anti-epidemic supplies such as surgical masks, China's textile exports were US$14.72 billion, surged by 46.96% year-on-year (in CNY-denominated terms, up 49.8%); apparel exports were US$ 16.21 billion, up 3.23% year-on-year (in CNY-denominated terms, up 5.24%), which was the first monthly positive growth after 7 consecutive months of negative growth.
