According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in June, China’s value-added industrial output above designated size actually increased by 4.8% year-on-year (the growth rate hereinafter refers to price-adjusted actual growth rate), 0.4 percentage points faster than May. It edged up 1.30% from the previous month. And it dropped by 1.3% in January-June. By region, in June, the value-added industrial output grew 5.4% year-on-year in eastern regions, 4.7% in the central regions, 4.6% in the western regions and 6.9% in the northeast.
Industrial output, officially called industrial value added, is used to measure the activity of certain large enterprises with annual turnover of at least CNY 20 million (about US$ 2.9 million).
The manufacturing output increased by 5.1% year-on-year in June, while it declined by 1.4% in the first half of 2020. In June, the textile industry’s value-added output upped by 3.2%, while it decreased by 4.5% in January-June period. By product, in June, the production of 355 out of 612 kinds of products increased year-on-year. In the output of main products, the output of fabric fell by 18.9% year-on-year to 3.4 billion meters in June and 25.9% to 16.9 billion meters in January-June, while the output of chemical fibers surged 6.9% to 5.48 million tons in June and dropped by 1.0% to 28.11 million tons in January-June.
And the sales-output ratio of industrial enterprises was 97.8%, 0.5 percentage points higher than the same period of last year.
