Development Practice of Vortex-spun Regenerated Acrylic / Regenerated Viscose Blended Yarn

Abstract: Regenerated acrylic and viscose fibers offer advantages in developing green textiles with high recycled components. However, the weak performance of these fibers, due to the use of recycled raw materials, results in challenges in spinning and limits their application possibilities. To fully utilize regenerated acrylic fiber and regenerated viscose fiber, an 11.8 tex regenerated acrylic / regenerated viscose(40/60) blended yarn was developed by employing highly efficient and energy-saving air-jet vortex spinning technology. A method involving multi-point plate arrangement and double mixing was utilized to enhance the mixing degree of raw materials. Based on the characteristics of the fiber raw materials, the process parameters of blowing, carding, drawing, and air-jet vortex spinning were optimized, reducing fiber damage during the spinning process and effectively improving yarn performance. The final blended yarn exhibits high strength and a good quality index, making it suitable for use in underwear, sweaters, coats, and bedding.
