Abstract: Domestic reserve and international sourcing of protective products are critical in combating urgent public health problems. With the aim to understand the capacity of African countries to react to urgent situations and facilitate the supply of protective products between China and African countries, this paper investigates the problems in the circulation of protective textile products between China and Africa amid the Covid-19 pandemic via literature review, interviewing relevant personnel and expert and puts forward corresponding countermeasures for these problems. The blocked circulation is attributable to different standard certifications, substandard products and single cooperation channels. Through bilateral or multilateral standard recognition mechanism, pre-approval of China’s certification organizations, precertification of products quality, creation of information-sharing platforms as well as localization of supply capacity, China and Africa can enhance the efficiency of product circulation in emergency conditions, widen the circulation channels, and ultimately improve the public health security on both sides.
