Abstract: The study relates to the identification of mink fur based on PCR method. Test method was established by extracting enough DNA from 32 samples of tanned animal fur from market and employing the PCR method to identify the samples. After testing, 21 samples were proved to contain key constituent of mink, while the other 11 samples were component-free by PCR method with the specification of 100%.This test method was validated by comparing the results of conventional and PCR method respectively for 10 fur coat samples from the market. The results of conventional method were identical with PCR method, and 4 samples that couldn’t be identified by the conventional method were measured by the PCR method. Eventually, the PCR method can be used in the field of identification of tanned mink fur and as supplement and verification for optical method.
