Abstract: The paper first analyzes Uygur Badam patterns from the angles of historical origin, graphic features, forms of expression and characteristics of color usage, and then discusses the applications of these patterns in contemporary costumes. It finds out that Uygur folk artists have always been attracted by such patterns, because of not only the rich and profound implications that have rooted in the heart of the folk artists, but also the smooth and round, dynamic and beautiful lines and curves as well as the concept of color usage that is full of traditional color culture and religious culture.
