Industrial Value-added of China’s Textile Industry up by 3% in the First Ten Months of 2025

China’s industrial output sustained steady expansion in October amid measures to boost the high-end, intelligent and green industrial development, official data showed on Friday. China’s value-added industrial output expanded 4.9% year on year in October, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In the first 10 months of this year, China’s industrial output increased by 6.1% compared to the same period last year.

The industrial output is used to measure the activity of large enterprises, each with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about US$2.8 million).

A breakdown of the data showed that the manufacturing sector’s value-added output increased by 4.9% year on year last month.

By product, in the first ten months, the production of 313 out of 623 kinds of products increased year-on-year. Among them, fabric output decreased by 6.4% year-on-year in October to 2.6 billion meters and dropped by 4.5% year-on-year from January to October to 25.4 billion meters. And the output of chemical fibers grew by 4.1% year-on-year in October to 7.5 million tons and increased 5.4% year-on-year to 72.33 million in the first ten months.
