Industrial Value-added of China's Textile Industry up by 2.5% in January - October

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in October, China's value-added industrial output above designated size actually increased by 3.5% year-on-year (the growth rate hereinafter refers to price-adjusted actual growth rate), saw a 10.6% growth compared with that of 2019. The two-year average growth reached 5.2%. It edged up 0.39% from the previous month. And it rose by 10.9% in January-October.


Industrial output, officially called industrial value added, is used to measure the activity of certain large enterprises with annual turnover of at least CNY 20 million (about US$ 2.9 million).


The manufacturing output increased by 2.5% year-on-year in October and 11.3% in January-October period. In October, the textile industry's value-added output decreased by 5.9%, while it increased by 2.5% in January-October period. By product, in October, the production of 246 out of 612 kinds of products increased year-on-year. Thereinto, the output of fabric rose 0.3% year-on-year to 3.4 billion meters in October and increased by 9.0% to 31.9 billion meters in January-October period, while the output of chemical fibers declined 4.9% to 5.37 million tons in October and rose 11.8% to 55.72 million tons in January-October period.
