The economic operation of garment industry in January-June is as follows:

Production

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the garment production of enterprises above designated size in garment industry totaled more than 11.32 billion pieces, up by 19.98% year-on-year. The industrial added-value of garment enterprises above designated size increased by 10.9% year-on-year, up by 23.1 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

Domestic sales

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to CNY 21.19 trillion, grew by 23.0% year-on-year. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, China's online retail sales was CNY 5.02 trillion, growing by 18.7% year-on-year. In the online retail sales of physical commodities, wearing goods increased by 24.1% year-on-year.

Export

According to the Customs Newsletters, from January to June, China's garment and accessories exports totaled over US$ 71.52 billion, surged by 40.3% year-on-year.

Investment

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the actual investment of China's garment industry increased by 5.8% compared with the same period of 2020. The growth rate rebounded 43.7 percentage points.

Benefit

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June, the main business income of textile enterprises above designated size totaled over CNY 653.37 billion, with year-on-year growth of 12.99%; the total profit was more than CNY 27.40 billion, up 13.87% year-on-year; operating income margin was 4.19%, up by 0.03 percentage points year-on-year.
